Noches de Montaña to continue to realize free expositions this year

Noches de Montaña (mountain nights) is a cultural non-profit association and offers presentations related to sports and mountain activities in Huaraz. These presentations are held in the form of discussions, seminars, lectures and exhibitions through guest speakers of clubs and local institutions. For this year Noches de Montaña has planned a couple of interesting seminars.
Noches de Montaña offered their first exposition back in 2013 in the Cultural Centre of Huaraz and their idea is to continue these exhibitions in different places like on schools, universities and institutes in the city countryside. The initiative is a result of the need to assess, inspire and drive the passion of mountain sports, which are inherent in the geographical environment of Huaraz and its surroundings. The objectives of Noches de Montaña are to inform the local population of the presence and evolution of mountain sports, to form an integration scenario throughout the local community, to strengthen the image of Huaylas as a tourist destination and to prove a forum where people can discuss problems and solutions on activities and mountain sports in the region.
Director Fredy Cueva and coordinator Rosario Obregón have already programmed the first couple of expositions for this year. The first exposition will be led by Quique Apolinario who is a mountain guide. Quique will talk on the 1st of April about the climb of the peak Contrahierbas (Pico Mateo) and the entrance is free. The second chat is planned a week later and contains explanations on how to organise a mountain expedition. This time Magno Camones will be in charge of the microphone. On April 22nd, Rosario del Pilar Obregon Dominguez will share her experiences on when she went to Ecuador last year and reached the top of the ultra-prominent peak Chimborazo (6,268m) and the highest vulcan and mountain of Ecuador. A feat, never ever completed by any other Peruvian woman before. Club CASAM will conclude the exhibitions on Friday the 29th with a presentation of photographs on mountains and expeditions. As mentioned previously, these programmed exhibitions can be attended for free.
